Jeramie Rinne
Senior Pastor
Jeramie grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada. He received a B.A. in Bible and Ancient Languages from Wheaton College, and an M. Div. from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Jeramie served as the Senior Pastor of South Shore Baptist Church in Hingham, Massachusetts for 20 years. He then relocated to Evangelical Community Church in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates where he served as Senior Pastor for four years. He is an author and trains pastors in expository preaching through the Charles Simeon Trust. Jeramie and his wife, Jennifer, have been married since 1992 and have four children. Jeramie enjoys the outdoors, movies and board games.
Teddy Folkerts
Associate Pastor
Teddy grew up in Rochester, MN. He received his bachelors in Psychology from North Dakota State University and has finished his Master of Divinity from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Teddy served as a Pastoral Intern at Oakhurst Baptist Church in Charlotte, NC for 2 years before coming to SCC in the fall of 2022. Teddy has been married to his best friend, Allie, since 2016 and they have two daughters, Marlowe & Winnie. In his spare time he enjoys sports and board games.
Jeff Blackford
Operations Director
Jeff was born and raised in Iowa. Following a successful career in business, he was called to ministry in 2010 and spent over ten years as the Executive Pastor at Antioch Christian Church in Marion Iowa. Jeff received undergraduate degrees in marketing and business administration. He also earned his master’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Lincoln Christian University. Jeff and his wife Robin have sons Keaton and Seth. In his spare time, Jeff enjoys spending time outdoors with his family and traveling.
Kristi Barefoot
Director of Women's Ministry and Assimilation
Kristi has loved and followed Jesus for over forty years. She has served as Women’s Director on staff at three churches in California. She loves scripture and is passionate to serve the church through discipleship and Titus 2 relationships. Her passion is to teach the Word of God and exhort women to live out what they learn. Kristi grew up in Wichita, KS and attended college in Joplin MO, and CA. She has been married to Stan since 1979. They are avid sports fans, love being fans of Kansas City Sport teams. They were blessed with two sons, Caleb and Andrew. Andrew and his wife, Anicia gave them their grandson, Taj. They make many trips to California to see their family. Kristi loves to cook, travel and hunt for bargains in thrift stores. .
Sandy Lynn Bober
Children's Ministry Director
Sandy Lynn Bober is passionate about Jesus Christ and teaching children to hide God’s word in their hearts. She is a certified teacher with her Bachelors in History/Political Science from Rutgers University and Masters in Education from Hunter College. She recently received her Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from Liberty University. Sandy Lynn has worked as a teacher; for a pregnancy resource center, and as the Director of Children’s Ministry at a large church in Northern New Jersey. Her husband Alex is serving in the Sanibel Police Department and they enjoy serving the Lord together and are both very missions-minded. They have five children, Sofia, Kaela, Tessa and Troy, and Willa. In their free time the Bober's enjoy traveling, the outdoors and animals of all types!

Bryan Lansberry
Director of Media
Bryan has been serving in Church Production Ministry for 20 years leveraging his gifts & talents, with all things AVL / IT / Technology, to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He is known as “Tech Support” with his family and friends. Bryan has been married to his wife Monica since 2003 and they have 2 beautiful daughters, Hannah and Andee. They have been living in Fort Myers for the past 10 years and the 10 previous years in Palm Beach, yet born & raised in southern New Jersey. In his free time, he is frequently out of cell phone range fishing, diving & lobstering but can also be found on the pickleball courts.
Vicki Ashton
Culinary Services Coordinator
Vicki comes to the SCC Kitchen with 26 years of experience in catering and restaurant management. Having grown up in Chicago, IL, she graduated from College with a B.S. in Education. She has also taken classes at Hope Biblical counseling Center. Vicki and her family first visited the island in 1974 and moved to Sanibel full time, in 2000, after owning Vail Street Café in Arlington Heights, IL from 1992 – 2000. Vicki’s areas of expertise include: cooking and presentation. Vicki’s favorite bible quote comes from 2 Corinthians 5:17 English Standard Version (ESV) “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation the old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”
Ashley Skinner
Assistant to the Operations Director
Ashley was born and raised in NE Indiana. She moved to the island in January of 2022 with her husband Brandon, sons Oliver, Lawson, and Evan (now with Jesus), and their frenchie Ava. She has a bachelor's degree in Family & Consumer Sciences from Ball State University. In her spare time she enjoys some serious shelling on the beach and riding her bike around the island.
Michele Herman
Assistant to the Operations Director
Michele is a Florida cracker, having started life in Fort Myers. She married John aka “Whitey” in 2015. Whitey has two adult daughters, Kaitlyn and Kylie. Whitey and Michele do not have children of their own but they do have six corgis. Many of you may recognize Michele since she worked for the City of Sanibel previously at the Recreation Center. In her free time she enjoys reading about theology and photography.

Chris grew up in Columbus, OH. He received his bachelors in Business Administration from The Ohio State University and is finishing his Masters in Divinity from Reformed Theological Seminary. He previously worked as a Pastoral Assistant at Oakhurst Baptist Church in Charlotte, NC before coming to Sanibel Community Church. Chris is married to Claire, and they have 2 daughters, Harper and Mia. Chris loves spending time outside, watching football and making espresso drinks at home.

Keith Sieck
Chair
Keith Sieck was born and raised in Lincoln, NE. He received a business degree at the University of NE, and worked 34 years for General Mills. He and his wife, Nini, will celebrate 60 years of marriage on June 20, 2024. He enjoys golf with his sons (Rusty, Brian and Jeff), history, puzzles and fishing (prefers catching though).
Brad Thompson
Vice Chair
Brad Thompson graduated Medical School from University of Pittsburgh. He ran a private practice in Beaver, PA, and then in New Orleans, LA. He has served as an elder at churches in PA and LA. He has been married to Linda for 46 years and they have two grown children together. After retiring, they moved to Sanibel and have been members of SCC since 2017. While at SCC, he has served as worship leader, usher, and Men’s Bible Study leader. He enjoys golfing and volunteering for FISH in his spare time.
Philip Mercer
Treasurer
Philip Mercer was born and grew up in Laurel, MD. In his professional life, he went to work for a small business of nine people, which he then purchased in 1981. The Lord blessed the business and it grew to more than 500 people. He sold that business in 2000 and has been involved in personal investing since. Phil and Gay have been married now nearly fifty-seven years. They have two married children, Michael and Amy, and five grown grandchildren. They became members of SCC in 2010. In his spare time, he enjoys reading about business, volunteering and playing golf.
Kurt Schulte
Secretary
Originally from Michigan, Kurt moved to Florida in 1984 and shortly thereafter, began what would become a 26 year career as a police officer and later chaplain with the Sanibel Police Department. In 1988, Kurt and Susan, were married in the Historic Chapel and began attending SCC. Kurt is ordained by Evangelical Church Alliance (ECA), has earned an M.A. from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary, and has completed training in Clinical Pastoral
Education. Kurt and Susan enjoy traveling, hosting missionaries in their home, and taking walks with their goldendoodle, Toda.

Joel Goodman
Joel and his wife Mary Ann came to faith in Jesus as college students through the influence of Joel's sister and some close friends. Wanting to further engage in their new faith, they attended and served in a college ministry at lowa State University. That student ministry planted Cornerstone Church in Ames, lowa. Joel and Mary Ann were founding members and served in many capacities on the church plant. Joel is an architect and real estate agent, lives on Sanibel, and spends summers in South Dakota. Joel has been a member at SCC since 2012 and has served on the previous Church Council, been active in the youth ministry and currently leads a home Bible study. He has also served the Sanibel community in many leadership roles. Joel and Mary Ann have been married for 33 years. They have four adult children and 2 grandchildren.
Grady Hauser
Grady Hauser graduated from Trinity, in Deerfield, IL, studying economics and management, then spending his career in the printing industry. He is currently Principal of Personalized Printing. He came to faith in Christ at age seven and can't remember a time when building Christ's church was not a central part of his life. He has served in the Elder role in previous churches, but his role has also included Men's Ministries and Discipleship. He and Lora Sue have been married 39 years and have two grown sons with grandchildren. Fishing and tennis compete for his spare time.
Mitch Pezzi
Mitch was born and raised in upstate NY and then moved to OH for college where he received his Electrical Engineering degree followed by an MBA at Ohio University and also met the love of his life, Valerie. Later Mitch attended Palmer Theological Seminary. After a few years working for others in an engineering capacity, Mitch and Valerie started their own engineering consulting company that in 2024 celebrated its 30th year in business. They have been members at SCC since 2006. They have two daughters, Melisa, husband Chris, in Ft. Myers and Aundrea, husband Dave, in OH and three wonderful grandchildren, Madelyon, Vivian and Genevieve. They live full time on Sanibel.
Ron Spon
Ron Spon was born and raised in Steubenville, OH. In 1973, he received a Juris Doctor degree. For fifteen years he was engaged in the private practice of law, as well as serving as a felony prosecuting attorney. Ron then served for twenty six years as a Common Pleas Court judge. He and his wife, Mary have been members of SCC since 2021. They have three married children, Heather, Jennifer, and Ryan. His hobbies include astronomy, amateur radio, traveling, biking, and reading.
Craig Schneider
Craig was born in Wisconsin to a German immigrant family, but moved to Florida in his teens. He came to faith in Jesus and was baptized at age 12. He works at Sun Coast Lumber (since 2000), and his wife, Lynn, recently retired from Shell Point after 25 years as the Director of Marketing and Public Relations. Craig has served as an elder at Providence Church in Cape Coral before moving to Sanibel and becoming a member at SCC four years ago. Craig leads a community group on the island and has been involved with the SCC rebuilding project. He has a passion for missions and has taken numerous trips to Africa with Builders without Borders. Craig and Lynn are full-time residents. They have two sons and three grandchildren.
Mike Shank
Mike is from Minnesota. He heard the gospel as a child and believed in Jesus at a young age, though he didn't have firm assurance of his salvation until the age of 13. At that point he was baptized. Mike served as an elder at a Christian and Missionary Alliance church in Elk River, MN, and also served as the lead elder of an Evangelical Free Church plant in the same city. He and his wife Victoria have been members of SCC since 2021. He leads an SCC community group and is regularly involved with the Tuesday morning men's group. He loves teaching the Bible in small group settings. Mike is retired from his family construction business. He lives full-time in Fort Myers. He and Victoria have been married 49 years. They have two daughters and seven grandchildren.
Roman Sazanov
Roman and his wife Asia (pronounced "Asha") have been members of SCC for two years. Roman grew up in Moscow, Russia during the last years of the Soviet Union. After his parents divorced, he spent a lot of time with his grandmother who was the only believer Roman knew. She was a member of an underground church. It was there that Roman was exposed to the gospel. He always believed what he was taught, but he became a true follower of Jesus at age 25 after moving to America and going through a dark season of life. Roman has a passion for evangelism, missions and teaching of God's Word. He currently serves as a deacon on our missions committee, and together with Asia they serve on the Sunday morning prayer team. He is currently working on a Master's degree in Theology through Phoenix Seminary. Roman lives full-time in Fort Myers and has worked in investments and financial planning for the last 18 years. Asia and Roman have been married for almost 19 years and have two sons, aged 12 and 14.
